The dailies were not used in the film, due to the camera focusing on the UFO in background. Look hard because it is not the best picture still. The film was shot in 1966 , released in 1969, the actor is TONY FRANCIOSA. Look at his left side and you will see a UFO in the background. A white globuar craft. Most UFO's according to wintnesses, do not make loud mechanical noise. This one according to the crew did. Reports of UFO's making noise, as in engine sound, has been noted when the craft seem to be in trouble or when draining a power station.

UFO or ghost in John Wayne movie? The two photos are from the 1950 film "RIO GRANDE". The photos are not that good, but they will give you a reference point in what to look for in the movie. The DUKE talks to Maureen O'Hara about sending their son-Claude Jarman to another post. To the left of Duke's head a disturbance is seen in the trees. The disturbance goes to the sky then quickly tilts and moves out of sight. WHat was it, supposedly the film was all shot on location in Utah. If this is so, then was it a UFO or UFO's? If this scene was shot in a studio, was the disturbance a ghost? Or was it a light reflecting off the background picture? Take a look for yourself and see what you think. Very strange, that such a glich (lighting problems) would not be caught before final shots. Scenes are gone over and over with lights, marks and camera before final shots.
